A specialist with over 18 years of experience in biomass and thermochemical conversion processes, María holds a PhD in biomass gasification and a solid scientific and practical track record in gasification, pyrolysis, and biochar production, the result of 12 years of research in this field. Her experience also encompasses biogas plants, combustion, thermal energy system modeling, pretreatment, pelletization, and solid biofuel characterization. She also has advanced knowledge in the processing of alternative fuels, such as secondary biomass and waste resources, as well as in alternative conversion technologies for the production of synthetic fuels and biochar.
